Jolly Roger Entertainment is Roger Cordes. Roger is the guy you see running the office at Oriental Dental, and also in the balcony running the audio at Old Theater music events.
After living 30 years in Raleigh, and following a long career in computer software development, Roger Cordes moved to Oriental with his wife Elizabeth in 2005 to open a dental practice.
Soon thereafter, because of a long-standing interest in music, Roger got involved with the Pamlico Musical Society and Old Theater Corporation, where he is now in charge of the technical (sound reinforcement and lighting) aspects of live performances. Roger is also an amateur musician and composer, playing guitar, bass guitar and the occasional hand drum. Roger’s additional musical interests extend to advances in musical instrument and digital recording and production technologies.
In 2009, Roger formed Jolly Roger Entertainment to bring professional, world-class musicians from around North Carolina down to Oriental’s Old Theater. The “North Carolina Artists’ Series” is the first of what Roger hopes will be an ongoing series of concerts.
